The black and red striped barrel is made of cellulose acetate in an elaborate process. The rings and clip are finished with 24-carat gold.

The Souverän 800 Black-Red uses a piston filling mechanism and has a bicolor 18-carat gold nib, available in an EF, F, M and B.
