The second release in our Fairy Tale Collection, this Carlo Collodi, Pinocchio design celebrates the beloved classic tale of a mischievous animated marionette who longs to be a real boy. Pinocchio enriches all who encounter its charming story of a boy’s journey to fulfill his one true wish.
We are delighted to introduce the second release in our Fairy Tale Collection: Carlo Collodi, Pinocchio. This design celebrates the beloved classic tale of an animated marionette named Pinocchio whose only wish is to be a real boy.
Reproduced here is a manuscript page of Collodi’s original The Adventures of Pinocchio, courtesy of the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze in Florence, Italy. The 1883 children’s fantasy novel follows the adventures of the mischievous Pinocchio and his creator and father figure, a poor woodcarver named Geppetto. Since its first publication as a book rather than in serial form, Pinocchio has been one of the most popular pieces of children’s literature and its main character beloved as a universal icon and metaphor of the human condition.
