Galen Leather Balm is a natural leather conditioner designed to nourish, restore, polish and help protect genuine leather goods from moisture and everyday wear. Based on a traditional formula used for decades, it helps maintain the leather’s softness, appearance and flexibility while extending the life of well-used leather accessories.

The balm is made from a simple blend of natural ingredients and is suitable for a wide range of genuine leathers, including vegetable-tanned and oil-tanned leather.

Unlike many conventional leather conditioners, the formula is designed to be virtually odorless, non-sticky, non-greasy and non-slippery. It absorbs into the leather rather than remaining on the surface, helping reduce the risk of residue transferring onto clothing or other items.

Regular conditioning can help restore softness, reduce dryness, maintain the leather’s natural sheen and provide an additional level of water resistance. It is particularly useful for frequently handled leather goods or older pieces that have begun to feel dry.

Application Instructions:

Make sure the leather is clean and completely dry before application. Test a small amount on a discreet area first to check the final appearance. Begin with a very small amount of balm. Additional product can always be applied gradually if required. For best results, massage the balm gently into the leather by hand. A soft cotton cloth can also be used. The leather will begin absorbing the balm immediately. Certain types of leather may temporarily appear darker after application. In most cases, any temporary darkening should gradually reduce and the leather should return close to its natural shade within approximately 24 hours. Repeat the treatment whenever necessary to condition, protect and maintain the leather.

Before conditioning, gently remove surface dirt using a soft, slightly damp cloth. This is particularly important for older or heavily used leather goods, as applying conditioner over dirt may trap particles within the leather.

Do not use external heat such as hair dryers, heaters or ovens during application. High-quality leather does not require heat to absorb conditioner. Excessive heat can cause the leather to absorb too much oil, resulting in significant darkening and possible oil seepage.

For the best results, always apply the balm gradually and allow the leather to absorb each small amount before adding more.
