Wancher x Kuretake – Yumeginga Maki-e
The Yumeginga Maki-e is the second release in the Wancher and Kuretake fountain pen collaboration, designed for those who appreciate the refined beauty of Maki-e in a practical, everyday writing instrument.
The larger barrel, with its black and gold finish, highlights the Maki-e artistry with elegance. This second release introduces four unique designs, each inspired by Japanese folklore and traditional artistic themes.
Maki-e Design – Kindai Maki-e and Ukiyo-e
The designs—Akafuji, Shidarezakura, Kakujuu, and Zuichou Houou—represent elements of the classical Japanese art concept Kachofugatsu: flower, bird, wind, and moon. Using modern Kindai Maki-e techniques, each motif is intricately expressed to honor timeless cultural symbols and the spirit of Japanese aesthetics.
