The new Delta Bajau Limited Edition is far more than a writing instrument — it is a tribute to one of the world’s most fascinating and resilient cultures.
Inspired by the legendary Bajau people, the “Nomads of the Sea” who inhabit the waters of Southeast Asia, this exceptional creation captures the spirit of freedom, exploration, and harmony with nature. For generations, the Bajau have lived aboard their traditional “Lepa” boats, navigating the seas between Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines with an almost mystical connection to the ocean. Their extraordinary ability to free-dive for extended periods has made them one of the most unique indigenous populations in the world.
Limited to only 388 fountain pens worldwide, the Bajau L.E. 2026 continues the celebrated Indigenous People Collection — a project that for over two decades has honored ancient civilizations and endangered cultural identities through extraordinary Italian craftsmanship.
Entirely handcrafted, the pen is produced using premium custom resin created exclusively for this edition by Jonathon Brooks of Carolina Pen Company. The material reflects the mesmerizing shades of the ocean itself, blending deep marine blues, turquoise currents, and luminous cultural accents inspired by Bajau ceremonial art and traditional garments. Each pen displays a unique pattern, making every piece truly one of a kind.
The intricate clip, realized through the ancient lost-wax casting technique, faithfully reproduces the ornamental details of the Bajau “Lepa” house-boat, while the decorative band features motifs inspired by traditional Bajau costumes and symbolic tribal patterns.
Equipped with a 24kt gold-plated steel nib and a fixed piston filling system manufactured in the Maiora workshops, the Bajau delivers both reliability and refinement, combining technical excellence with artistic expression.
Created as a continuation of the visionary work of Francesco Rienzi, this edition stands as both a tribute to the legacy of the Indigenous People Collection and a celebration of cultures whose stories deserve to endure.
The Delta Bajau is not simply a pen — it is a handcrafted work of art carrying the colors, soul, and spirit of the sea.
