On February 4, 2020, a development meeting was held at Mitsubishi Paper\'s Takasago Mill, and Taizo Yamamoto (Yamamoto Shigyo) proposed Bank Paper Takasago Premium. We then presented five challenges toward the development of this new paper. ? ``Pursuit of writing paper compatible with fountain pens\'\' ? ``Pursuit of silk texture (smooth)\'\' ? ``Pursuit of ink shading\'\' ? ``Pursuit of ink color development (brightness)\'\' ? ``Can be used as the body of a notebook ``Pursuit of ink drying performance.\'\' When looking at these issues from the perspective of papermaking technology, they are contradictory. For example, paper that absorbs more slowly will produce more shading in ink, but it is not suitable for use as a notebook. The Takasago Plant development team successfully solved five difficult problems by adjusting raw materials, size materials, and press parts. After repeated prototyping, Bank Paper Takasago Premium was finally manufactured at Takasago No. 4 machine on September 8, 2020. The "THREE DIAMONDS" watermark is included as proof of Mitsubishi Paper Mills\' development and quality assurance.
