Glassine is a thin, translucent paper made from chemical pulp that is mechanically processed until smooth, then treated with heat and pressure to increase its density and smoothness. Its name comes from its glass-like appearance.
It is suitable for food contact and is commonly used for food and pharmaceutical packaging. Due to its extremely thin nature, it may naturally have some creases or retain marks from its wrapping paper.
