The Wancher Sekai Aizu Urushi – Verawood is a distinctive handcrafted fountain pen that combines the natural beauty of Verawood with the traditional Japanese art of Aizu Urushi.
Made in Fukushima, Japan, each pen is carefully hand-coated with multiple layers of translucent Suki-Urushi, allowing the natural grain and texture of the wood to remain visible. Over time, the Urushi becomes increasingly transparent, giving the surface an even deeper and more lustrous appearance.
The finish is created using the demanding Nurippanashi technique, which does not involve a final polishing stage. As a result, subtle unevenness or the natural texture of the wood may remain visible. These are not defects, but rather authentic characteristics of the traditional handcrafted process.
Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi (??), every Sekai Aizu Urushi is truly one of a kind, with no two pens being exactly alike.
It features a #6 JoWo stainless steel nib, supports both converter and European Standard cartridges, and comes presented in a traditional Japanese wooden box with cartridge, converter and instructional materials.
A genuine work of Japanese craftsmanship, where the natural beauty of Verawood meets the artistry of Aizu Urushi and the timeless aesthetic of Wabi-Sabi.
